Comments: My father was in the 1052nd Engineers Port Construction and Repair Group stationed in Australia in 1943-1944. Unfortunately I have found very little information about this unit anywhere on line. My fathers notes show them in Ahioma, Milne Bay, Finschhafen and Hollandia, New Guinea. I did find some photos of the unit on the Australian War Memorial website. Love your website.

Comments: I'm just a history nut, enjoying your stories. I have always been in awe of sappers/combat engineers, but my 37 years service were in field artillery and airborne electronics.
