Father Lt. Henry Dutton Batchelder (aka, Hank or Batch)
his discharge papers say he was with 169 Battalion C.
Does anyone recall or have any info on that unit.
Thanks. John C Batchelder ;)

Admin reply: Stop by the forum, for a search turned up info on this unit.

my father, Harold L Webb, served in the 49th ECB. I would be interested in finding other relatives of men who served in the 49th.

Admin reply: Stop by the forum, for there's info on this unit. I can also put you in touch with a member of the 49th, as well as several sons and daughters of the men.

My father was in the Army Corps of Engineers. He never spoke of it other than how a man saved his life by carrying him to their destination. I would like to know about his war history and the men he served with in the corp.

Hi, I am looking for any info on 246 Field Company RE from Dec1942. My father was a L/SGT with this betalian and I know very little, as dad (like many others no doubt) very rarely talked about his time in the war. I have been reading extracts from Brian Guy and find it fascinating. I really would love to understand how my dad servived the 4 years at war and thankfuly came home safely.
Many thanks
CHristine Godfrey
My father was Gorden Hepworth

I am almost done restoring my 1942 Ford GPW, as I was sanding down someone's terrible paint job when I found its units identification markings. 1st Armored Division, 16th Engineering Battalion (1(Triangle) 16E - A10). Looking for anyone that has info/pics of the 16E, trying to find a pic of my GPW in its glory days! Or if you know a good website to search that would help.

Admin reply: I have some info for you:

I could probably put you in touch with some re-enactor friends who do restorations. Let me know.
