Comments: Great website with lots of information to explore for months to come! My father, Col. George W. Bennett, was in the WWII 92nd Engineering General Service Regiment. He gave me an oil painting of the Matterhorn by E. Merten in 1946. I am curious if anyone knows anything about E. Merten. Best, Linda
Admin reply: Linda, thanks for joining the forum too. See ya there. Hope I helped you figure out how to post.

Comments: Awesome stuff there..really love the field manuals. My grandfather fought in Africa and Italy in WW2 then went on to Korea. I look forward to seeing more on here in the future
Comments: My father was attached to the 343 Engineering Regiment GS, and served under Colonel's Dunbar and Stovall. I had the pleasure of meeting them and later corresponding with them in later years. I also have a great collection of photos my father took, some labeled locations., some not.
As you are uncertain if I am spam, I want to know if you are a legitimate site before I provide any further information. This is important to me.
Admin reply: Well, I hope I have proven myself, LOL! Have you had a chance to scope out the main site and the forum? We have tons of info on that unit. I'm sure many of our forum readers would like to exchange info with you. All the best...

Comments: This is a wonderful website, which I found today. I am trying to find out what Army Division, Battalion my Dad served in during World War II. I found some old pictures today from May 1944 with Camp Claiborn, LA written on the back of his picture with a fellow Army buddy. Does anyone know how I can find out what the name of his Company was? His name is Leon Pikul from Cleveland, Ohio. I have a few pictures dated 1944 that state he was in Chimay, Belgium in the winter of 1944 and also Raeren, Belgium. Dad was a Private First Class and very proud to serve his country...but never would talk about his years during the war. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Admin reply: There were numerous engineer units in Europe, so we would need a little more info. Maybe the pics show an arm patch, etc.? Send me an email and I will let you know how to obtain a copy of his discharge papers from his local state Veteran's Admin.
