Hi to all. I have heard a few good things about this forum on another WWII History forum, and figured I'd check it out.

Some of the vets that I glean information from and who have been very helpful in my research on my grandfather's WWII history wear singing the praises of this site, so here I am.

My grandpa served in Co C, 417th Infantry Regiment, 76th Infantry Division, in the ETO from March '45 until he shipped back to the states in August'45.

I can't wait to learn more about our military's WWII history on this great site.

Some of you may know me by my other handle "Milsurpman" from the other forum.

Hey there Milsurpman. Well I hope I (we) can live up to all the praise that's been given. Thanks! B)-_-

We do have a lot of great members and I'm pretty proud of how we conduct ourselves and our scope of knowledge regarding the war. Most of the credit has to go to the vets who frequent this site, for they really make it what it is.

So how much do you know about his experience in the ETO? Would love to hear all that you can share. :pdt34:

Thanks folks.

J3rdinf: first thing I saw "elsewhere" was another jab...

Nice to see some familiar faces, uh, names, here. I read SgtLeo's posts on the humor section. Pretty funny guy.

Milsurpman:-

Welcome aboard I decided to come over here too after Joe told me about it.

Sure you will enjoy the folks over here more than the troublemakers there.

Don't forget I want to see that display you put together - sounded great.
