I am trying to find out some information about my Dad's service record. I have quite a few pictures of him while he was in the service in WW II. I have attached attached a photo of him in front of the 49th Engineer Combat Battalion logo which I believe he was part of. I do not see that mentioned on his service record. Another photo I have is of him I believe with a 1st Army patch. the big A on his sleeve.I wasn't sure if the 49th was attached to the 1st
Unfortunately my dad's been gone for almost 10 years now and I am not able to ask him about his time in WWII
