Today my father and his fellow engineers landed on the shores of southern France.

 

The 540th came ashore with the 36th Inf Div

Sorry for those who haven't been around for very long...that's our PET PEEVE. There's not only ONE D-Day, there are scores. So when you refer to June 6, 1944, it's D-Day Normandy please!
