I am at present reading Disobeying Hitler, German resistance in the last year of WW2.
It describes how Hitler's "scorched earth" policy was thwarted by many Germans, some in high places and his orders not adhered to. I have emailed John Fallon with a description as it contains a section on Operation Dragoon in which he took part.
The Author is Randall Hansen and it was published by Faber & Faber in 2014.
