  [#1281]

I discovered this guy in my grandad's latest issue of VFW magazine.

He is still going at 105 and still volunteers at the VA 2 days a week. Bless him.

I found a couple other links I though you all would find interesting about WWI veterans.

Antonio Pierro

And a few that have passed, be sure to check out Carlo Orelli (joined at the age of 12!) and Hermann Dörnemann who disapproved of any kind of sporting activities. The only exercise he ever believed in was "walking to the corner shop to buy beer and cigars".

Awesome links Brooke. Hooray. Man do I enjoy reading these. Don't cha wish we could meet them in person. Sound like swell guys. B)

Love the line from the one,

Pierro still has a sense of humor. One day last year, he asked his 97-year-old brother, ``Nick, what are we going to do when we get old?"

``What are we going to do?" Nicholas Pierro recalled replying. ``We're going to keep going."

Reminds me of something my 99 year-old grandmother made about her sister Effie, who passed away at age 93......."Effie wouldn't have died so young if she'd gone to the doctor more often..."

:woof:
