Moose; Good thing it was just a training run in the UK. All the noise of walking
would be bye bye. On combat patrol you would be going from tree to tree with
the scouts using hand signals. Oh what the hell,, I'm thinking of over

Moose, looks like fun! There are reenactor groups around here but the start up costs are pretty hefty!

Rocky - you made me laugh with: " all the noise of walking would be bye bye".
That's something we civilians don't think about - how do you walk through woody terrain without making noise - especially carrying lots of gear.
The other thing I've always wondered is - in Moose's video you can hear lots of birdsong,
is it that way in combat areas? do the birds & animals leave making it eerily quiet?
Glad I made you laugh. On combat patrol,you don't carry gear. only your weapon
and ammo. You go looking for the enemy position but you don't engage, you go
back and report. I am talking about combat. Artillery and mortar fire drives birds
away. Laughing is good for the soul.

Rocky and Joe, You are right on guys... Wait to you see the ' ambush' the
reenactors from the ' British Army' set for us , we took a lot of ' casualties'
getting out of that track.
