Dear Marion,Thank you for the information about the 6th Corps Combat Engineer Reunion this fall.
We had our reunion in DC on Veterans Day weekend. You may recognize our Guests of Honor:
Dave & Selma had made complete arrangements to attend our reunion; then, Hurricane Sandy hit the weekend before our reunion. Dave called me Wednesday night and said that all routes to the bus station in Manhattan were closed, that taxi’s could not get gas, and that they may have to cancel. Oh my! I started calling our guys in NYC for possible help. They delayed their trip one day and arrived full of vigor.
They were an absolute delight, and we truly enjoyed their company. He warmly talked about you.
We are in Tucson this year; so, maybe Dave & Selma can return to DC with y’all.
Thanks so much for getting us in touch with these national treasures.
