Here's the latest from our fellow board member and WWII veteran, Jim Davis. There is also an article to read regarding this trip to Europe.

===========

Thanks for the kind words. A lot of people thought it insane to let an 85 year old wander around Europe by himself. But I did it and made it.

Here is a look and some pictures.

Aloha,

Jim

taken a pic of the bike riders that were there. Over fifty

motorcyles all lined up. The Marines gave us,(G.I.Forum)

"Mr. Squirrel",

You ARE a handsome devil. We should just put you on TV selling anti-aging products and the money would start rollin' in!

Mr. Davis is another one. Yikes! I get nervous now if I have to drive into Boston by myself, I can't imagine traveling around Europe at 85.

Another photo of Jim Davis from Hawaii:

===========

"Private Chester Owens, an Engineer soldier/fire fighter and member of the 1219th US Army Engineer Fire Fighting Platoon on December 24, Christmas Eve, 1944 on his way to a fire in Malmedy, Belgium was killed by what is believed to be enemy action. He rests with 7991 other US military in the beautiful US Military Cemetery at Henri-Chapelle, Belgium. I was a member of the 1204th US Army Engineer Fire Fighting Platoon. It was a privilege and an honor to be able to visit my Brother to pay my respects and offer my salute."
