Received this from James Hennessey of the 87th Infantry Division

Marion

At this time of year I always recollect

A person or place from WW2.We called

Cpl.Cornish ,Pop as relative to the

young soldiers in our outfit,he was in his

thirties.Somehow he took a liking to

me(not hard to do).More or less a

guardian angel non com.Whenever

we come back from the front in trucks,

he would run up to the tailgate and

yell "Where's Hennessey is he OK"?

Just a tid bit but I will never forget

His concern for a young G. I. I imagine

he has passed on,never saw him again

after I was wounded. Thanks anyway

Cpl Cornish up there in G.I.Heaven.

Hugs---Jim
