When I started looking through these old photos I thought of maybe Fort Bragg, early 1940s ? Then I noted that some of them are taken in France. Do you have the history of what they show M1?

No unfortunately not. Yes, it looked like Fort Bragg to me too. Evidently the pics are from a number of areas, here in the states and over in Europe.

What an interesting project. For those of interested in WWII, it is great to see more "mundane" pictures you don't normally see. There is a lot to glean there.
