I am trying to piece together a timeline of my grandfather's service, including transfers and such. I have copies of morning reports pertaining to when he was transferred from a Rep. Dep. to his regiment (417th IR) and when he was transfered from the 417th to another rep. dep.

Did the repalcement battalions also use morning reports to keep track of this type of activity, or did they do something else?

Since the only paprework I have been able to acquire has been his discharge, I am having to do some detective work to piece the rest together.
