I don't know if you've heard this before but President Obama will visit the cemetery during the ceremonies. Will be busy and a lot of security so you'll have to be there in time with the flowers Vee.
Thank you for your devotion Vee.

I'd love to go, too. Keep up the good work, Vee. I know you don't do this for recognition, but it feels nice to be appreciated. The world needs more people like you who care about these fellows and what they've accomplished and sacrificed.
God bless those heroes who suffered and died, for plain folks, like you and me.

AMEN! Dear Vee, have a wonderful time. I know you will. Yes, I hope the weather cooperates too. God bless you for your dedication.

In 2004 CNN was showing the start of the 60th anniversary rememberance. The Brits were lined up at Pegasus Bridge and then they started showing the coverage of Reagans passing. I hope they will show some of this years programs.

I will not go to the cemetery this time. Only because of a thight time-schedule. I think we will lose to much time with visiting it when the President is there. Maybe I will visit the cemterey again next time. I hope you'll be able to do your duty Vee ![]()

You would not be human if you did not get nervous.
I do get nervous-I take my time-take a breath and think of this:
"Behold, I show you a mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed…O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the Law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
Also I remember the words found in Gen Lewis Armistead's Bible:
"Trust in God and fear nothing"
Relax, don't let things get to you, just focus in on the what's important at that moment.
You will do fine
Jari
my warmest regards bas timmers
Vee,
Since I won't be able to make it to Normandy this year, I'd like to ask you a small favor.
If you go to that area, please take a view photos of the area where the "German villa" was near Vierville.
It's on Charlie Beach (the "side beach" of Omaha Beach).
My friend Michael climbed those bluffs and hit the German defenses from the rear on D-Day.
He was part of the Ranger force that got re-directed to Omaha sector when they thought the assault at Pointe-du-Hoc had failed.
I also believe there is a pretty good chance he was with the force that assaulted the Maisy battery (recently discovered).
Could you also take a few pictures of Dog Green?
That is where my other friend Jim (Assault Engineer) landed in the 3rd wave on D-Day.
Thank you very very much for considering.

Erwin ,
I would be happy to take pictures of these places for you!
I hope only you will like them and you would have taken them this way!
I would not want you to be disappointed !
