I am writing because I would like to know more about my Grandfather Irvin O. Haugen. He was in Company B of the 326th AEB, and I believe he might be in the picture on your website at the link https://ww2combatengineers.comCharlesWilber.htm

Here is all the info that I know about my Grandfater:

Lead Squad in Combat under fire

In Holland and Germany

Company B 326th Engineer

Supervised and assisted squad to remove obstacles

Placed Demolition and traps for enemies

made way Cleared ways for Allies to enter areas Served in this capacity for twenty months

2/44 - 11/45 was his tour of duty

Fort Benning, GA was where his paratrooper training was

discharged 718th railway operations battalion

fought in ardennes, rhineland, central europe

medals:

european / african / middle eastern service medal

good conduct medal

victory medal

distinguished unit badge

SGT. but discharged as PFC

2/21/44 - 3/5/44 - in Iceland
