Not a new book, but a great one! Very gritty, no-nonsense account of Wilson's days as a Lt. and (often) acting company commander from Normandy to Huertgen Forest and beyond. This is one of those books that you don't need to be a military scholar to enjoy. The title came from a promise made to Wilson on his first day in Combat, when his superior officer told him "If you survive this day I'll promote you."
