No wonder I quit worrying and learned to love the bomb.
One thing I question though is; If we had gone on with the invasion of Japan,we would still have the BOMB. When casualties began to mount up, wouldn't we have used it then, and a lot more.So, maybe Japan would have lost perhaps HALF of their population, instead of 300,000 . Also, the B-36 was coming off the line that held more than 4-1/2 times the bomb load as the B-29, or nuclear. Either way, we could pull back and just flatten the place. I think both sides can be thankful it ended the way it did.
