Rest in Peace Sgt. Don Burgett, your sacrifice will never be forgotten and your legacy will live on. Don served in A-Company, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division. His outstanding books will give you the feeling that you're sitting next to him during the battle. An amazing person has left us.

The Greatest Generation….Let us never forget !

You have to be 17 to enlist in the military. While it is well known that people younger than 17 served in WWII (& other wars) I am going to use 17 as a base. The war ended in 1945 & this is 2015. That means the YOUNGEST surviving WWII veteran is 87. Keep that in mind when you watch the video. Quite a few (in my opinion) do not look their age.
Something I’m sure you’ll enjoy. Hard to watch with dry eyes.

Runners interrupt race to thank WWII Vet

While the 408k road race benefitting the Pat Tillman Foundation was winding its way through a San Jose neighborhood, runners saw 95-year-old World War II veteran Joe Bell watching the event while dressed in full uniform. That’s when a number of competitors made a beeline for the veteran to offer their thanks, making for an impromptu receiving line.

The touching scene was captured by Julia Prodis Sulek of the San Jose Mercury News.
