So a great many people (judging by posts I've read) loved Picasa Web Albums. Unfortunately, Google killed it and is no longer supporting its client-side program, Picasa3. Unfortunately, Picasa Web Albums is how I had all of my old pictures posted here on the site. It was simple and worked exceedingly well, which, I suppose, is why they decided to get rid of it.

So the problem is that when I go to Google Photos now, select the picture I want and grab the link for the photo, it no longer works on the forum. Actually, the odd thing is the image I want shows up in the preview, but I get a warning that says "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community."

Using the right click and "copy image address" had worked as late April on your birthday (https://ww2combatengineers.comengforum/index.php?showtopic=8407) but Google must have changed how they create links to the stored images.

Now when I do that the link looks like this:

It doesn't have .jpg on the end, which I guess is the problem. Very sad indeed.

How to COPY AND PASTE - a simple video

I've been working in the "computer world" since the 80's and can't believe how many people still do not know how to COPY AND PASTE. Just received an email from a gentleman this morning who tries to retype everything, including new email addresses into his contact list. So I sent him this video today and hope it helps him as well as others. I found the simplest video I could, as to not to confuse him, for as us savvy users know, there are several ways to copy and paste...

The only thing still missing from the great windows features... This is a free program which allows you to print a directory list. Works great and is simple to use. I just used it to print a list of all the songs in my MP3 folder for the music site. YES!

AVERY has a great website, which allows you to design and print a number of projects including CD labels, at absolutely no cost to you.

I have CD label software, but have never been very happy with it. Bottom line; it's not that user-friendly. So last night I was compiling a CD for someone, and wanted to create a label. You must be able to do this online, and after doing a bit or research, found AVERY's site. It was easy and within minutes, had a label for the CD. I won't bother with my software anymore.

It works with a very large number of labels, and you simply have to scroll through their list to find yours.

Trouble viewing images in email IE8

My husband was one of many having problems viewing images within email programs. He is running Windows 7 with IE8. Well I discovered it wasn't inherit with GMAIL, but was due to a security setting within IE8.

We applied this fix this morning, and viola, all is well.

In IE8

tools --> internet options --> security --> custom level --> miscellaneous --> display mixed content --> CHANGE FROM DISABLE TO ENABLE
